The Book of Marmot

Marmot Tower Crack was the first route to the summit of the Marmot Tower. We had to avoid the crux of the climb due to lack of pro but plan to add bolts to protect the direct finish.

Climb featured face, you will be rewarded with amazing views. Start with a shallow crack on the right below the 1st bolt, and wander up the face.

The crack starts wide and gradually tapers all the way to the bolted anchor. This has good stemming and lots of features on the right face if wide cracks are not your thing. It is a good beginner lead as it protects well - the new leader might appreciate having double #4s as well as a #5 cam.

Climb slightly overhanging face with a crux at the 3rd bolt. Avoid using the crack 4 feet to the right of the 3rd bolt.

This is a toprope climb. Start on

. Just above the 1st bolt move right about 4 to 5 feet, then go straight up.

This is a toprope climb. Climb 5 feet left of

, climb face to thin crack above your head, then go straight up. The bulge is the crux.

Climb the face to a small overhang. Near the finish, climb a small overhang on narrow face which is the crux. You can bypass the crux, 5.4, by climbing the crack and face 4 feet to the right.
